Get That Damm Radio Going
Well The radio Doesn't work when you put the Rom in
It just ticks Away when you open the mute does nothing no TX no RX
Possible Causes

(1) VCO Is out of lock Needs to be Tweaked
Located On the RX board With ANT socket facing you Its the can on the right hand side
The Bloody big one 4 holes Yep you got it, for VHF Its the 2 bottom ones Be Careful With
The VHF one They Are Made from Ferrite Will Break easy UHF Its the 2 Top ones Made from alloy
Here Is A file In text Format which will Give you an idea of tuning this is not my original work
It was emailed to me with no author's Name or anything else for that matter

>>>>>>>>>>>>  TUNEUP.ZIP  <<<<<<<<<<<<

The info in this file will Also work with the UHF radio as well, just use
Common Sense When You Open Up the Radio If it works Leave the Bloody thing alone
And it will Kiss YA butt

(2) The Damm Links Were Changed  No one told me Were the hell are they ??
These links Are located on the Synth Board Looking down on radio with the front controls facing you
On the Right side there is a hole next to the rubber Squash spacer usually white & the word NETT
Go a Couple Of Solder Blobs toward your self and there are 2 links being left 304&302 right 303&305
to the right of these is some more starting at the end nearest to you you have
314 313 306 307 309 308 311 312
(Shit i would like to get a pic of this for ya But I dont Have the resources)
Radios on UHF have a common Division Ratio of 160 well most have anyway
VHF have Div ratio of 400  Please Correct me if im Wrong Im open to suggestion

To get 25Khz Steps on UHF you need div of 160, links should be
(n/r not required) (req required)
302n/r 303req 304req 305n/r 306req 307n/r 308req 309n/r 311req 312n/r 313req 314n/r
For 12.5Khz Steps A div of  320 Is required
302req 303n/r 304n/r 305req 306req 307n/r 308req 309n/r 311req 312n/r 313req 314n/r

To get 25Khz Steps on VHF you need div of 400, links should be
302req 303n/r 304n/r 305req 306req 307n/r 308req 309n/r 311req 312n/r 313n/r 314req
For 12.5Khz Steps A div of  320 Is required
302req 303n/r 304n/r 305req 306req 307n/r 308req 309n/r 311req 312n/r 313req 314n/r
All this is presuming you have a 10Mhz Crystal on the synth board
Synth Board Pic

(3) I Can Only Get DX to The end of the Street
RX Seems very low Refer to the Tune up Text File
It will Tell You The Basics But If You Must Know Now its the Big Mother
In the middle of the Rx board The Can that is

UHF Has Nuts On it While VHF Has Just the holes on the board
Connect A multi meter to the S point on The RX board on the Mk2 its above SK202
MARKED  S (can also be used as a signal meter tap)
tune Slugs So you get Max Reading on VM About 1.45v run up and down
the slugs till you are satisfied ya have got  the RX you Want
This Is only A course adjustment only and requires A scope to do it properly

(4) Selcall CTSS RTB
Well Radio Must Have the I/O Expander Kit In it Notably the NSC810AN
In socket IC415 & all its components on the synth board
links 403 must be cut & 413 + 405 fitted Just above IC413
